个人介绍:

邓兴旺,博士,教授,博士生导师,美国科学院院士。曾任耶鲁大学冠名终身教授(Daniel C. Eaton Professor)。1989年于美国加州大学伯克利分校获得博士学位,1992年开始在美国耶鲁大学建立实验室,任助理教授;1995年起任该校副教授,2001年起任该校终身正教授。其领导的研究团队迄今在《细胞》、《科学》和《自然》顶级刊物上发表14篇论文,在国际刊物上共发表304篇学术论文。2003年成为国际植物分子生物学会Kumho奖的唯一获奖者。2000年起担任北京大学-耶鲁大学植物分子遗传及农业生物技术联合中心主任,2013年入选美国科学院院士,2014年全职回北京大学工作。

舌尖上的植物学
      邓兴旺课题组以拟南芥、水稻等为研究对象,主要从事植物光信号转导、非编码RNA、植物杂种优势分子机理和分子设计育种领域的研究工作。本课题组目前有教授1人,副研究员4人,博士后、技术员和博士研究生多名,实验室建有配套齐全的植物基因组学、分子生物学、生物信息学等研究平台,具有长期的植物基因组学及分子生物学研究经验。实验室具体研究方向如下:
  1. 植物光形态建成的分子机理
  光是对于植物发育最重要也是最基本的生长信号。本实验室多年来以拟南芥为模式植物,通过遗传筛选获得了一系列光形态建成的抑制因子COP/DET/FUS。它们的突变体在暗中可以完成不同程度的光形态建成。多年的研究结果表明,这些因子在植物体内可以形成三个复合体并通过参与或调节泛素化途径来调控光信号传导。目前,在此基础上,我们将继续综合运用遗传学、生物化学、分子生物学、细胞生物学等实验手段,进一步解析光形态建成中的信号传导通路。
  2. 植物非编码RNA功能分析
  非编码RNA是直接以RNA形式行使生物学功能的核糖核酸群体的总称。本实验室通过独特的分离方式以及深度测序技术,在拟南芥和水稻全基因组中对50-300核苷酸长度的非编码RNA进行了注释,并结合分子生物学,生物化学及细胞生物学等手段,探讨:小核仁RNA在拟南芥生长发育中的作用机理;非编码RNA参与拟南芥光形态建成中的分子机理;由较长非编码RNA产生的小分子RNA在拟南芥及水稻发育调控中的作用机理。
  3. 植物杂种优势形成的分子机理
  杂种优势是自然界普遍存在的一种复杂生物学现象,在农业生产中得到了广泛的应用。但是,对于杂种优势形成的分子遗传机理迄今尚未阐述清楚。本实验室以水稻、玉米和拟南芥为研究对象,采用高通量测序技术,对具有不同优势程度的杂交组合进行全基因组基因差异表达分析,进一步分析造成这种差异表达的基于顺、反式调控的遗传机制,以及基于DNA甲基化、组蛋白修饰和非编码RNA的表观遗传机制。并通过整合杂种优势的经典遗传学假说,在分子水平上解析杂种优势形成的机理,为在农业生产上更好地应用杂种优势现象进行杂交育种提供理论指导。
  4. 水稻功能基因组与分子设计育种
  传统水稻育种依赖于育种家的经验,需要从大量的水稻杂交后代中挑选优良水稻株系,效率较低。随着基因组学与分子生物学技术的进步,在育种过程中对调控特定性状的基因位点进行跟踪成为了可能。我们通过利 用大量的水稻全基因组重测序信息,创制了水稻高密度单核苷酸多态性(SNP)芯片,并将其应用于水稻育种,从而使得水稻育种成为可以精确设计与控制的过程。我们创制的芯片及相应的设计流程大大提高了水稻育种效率,加快了培育高产、优质、多抗水稻品种的进程。
